Catherine Kay McCabe, 71, lost her courageous battle with cancer, and gained her angel wings while surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home on October 12, 2016.
She was born March 12, 1945 daughter of Roscoe and Ruth Anne Cowger in Mattoon, Illinois. Kay retired from New Braunfels Aero Service in New Braunfels,Texas on December 2005. She then relocated to Green Cove Springs, Florida. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Catherine Kay McCabe, 71, lost her courageous battle with cancer, and gained her angel wings while surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home on October 12, 2016.
She was born March 12, 1945 daughter of Roscoe and Ruth Anne Cowger in Mattoon, Illinois. Kay retired from New Braunfels Aero Service in New Braunfels,Texas on December 2005. She then relocated to Green Cove Springs, Florida. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Kay also enjoyed visiting her son and family in Texas, as well as spending time with her daughter and family in South Florida. Her husband Danny was her soul mate, and Elvis Presley was her Idol.
Kay is survived by her devoted husband Danny of 54 years, her son JR and his wife Kelly of New Caney, Texas, her daughter Tina and her husband Pat of Loxahatchee, Florida. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren, Conan, Monica, Matthew, Danielle, Zachary, Travis, Megan, Wesley, Shay, Brandon, Katy, Nikki, Sammy, and Miranda. She is survived by 16 great grandchildren, Wyatt, Austin, Tucker, Brantley, Shooter, Colt, Bo Jake, Sammi K, Cameron, Kaegen, Karlee, Riley, Drew, Maddie, Trinity and Kilee. She is also survived by her brothers, Norm and his wife Cindy of Cushing, Texas, Wayne and his wife Peggy of Mattoon, Illinois. Sister Patty of Mattoon, Illinois, and numerous nieces and nephews and extended friends.
Danny and Kay were members of Harbor Baptist Church of Fleming Island. Kay was preceded in death by her mother Ruth, father Roscoe, and brother Earl.
A visitation will be held at 6-8 PM Monday October 17, 2016 at HARDAGE-GIDDENS HOLLY HILL FUNERAL HOME, 3601 Old Jennings Road Middleburg, FL. Kay will also be having services in Houston, Texas at 5-8 PM Friday October 21st and funeral service is 10 AM Saturday, October 22nd at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex FWY Houston, Texas 77039.
