Jaime "Jim" J. Villanueva, 93, passed away August 8, 2017 in Orange Park, Florida. He was born on March 22, 1924 in Iloilo City, Philippines. He was the son of the late Narciso and the late Concordia Villanueva of Ilioilo City, Philippines.

During World War II, he fought as a Sergeant with the Philippine Guerillas alongside the United States forces to help liberate the Philippines. Jaime "Jim" J. Villanueva, 93, passed away August 8, 2017 in Orange Park, Florida. He was born on March 22, 1924 in Iloilo City, Philippines. He was the son of the late Narciso and the late Concordia Villanueva of Ilioilo City, Philippines.

During World War II, he fought as a Sergeant with the Philippine Guerillas alongside the United States forces to help liberate the Philippines. He continued his college education and attained a law degree from Far Eastern University. Jaime joined the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) as a fingerprint expert. After he passed the Bar Exam, he left the Philippines for Guam where he met and married the love of his life, Fely Illana. They had ten children. In Guam, he and Fely were very active in civic clubs such as the Ilocano Association. Although he had different careers he mainly worked in the insurance industry particularly at Moylan's Insurance. After 30 years, they moved with the rest of the family to Orange Park, Florida where he and Fely retired. He volunteered in the Clay County Sheriff's Office, where he was later employed being responsible for finger printing and organizing the law library. He joined the Bayanihan Club and the Fil-American Seniors of North East Florida (FASNF). He and Fely enjoyed dancing, traveling to events, and visiting museums with their Senior Friends group. He continued to be active with the senior citizen groups. Jaime finally retired and continued to reside with his eldest daughter and her family in Orange Park.

He is survived by his children Marilou, her husband Francisco Benavente of Orange Park, FL; Daisy & her husband Wayne Kemper of Tomball, TX; Alexander & his wife Mary Ann of Bloomfield,NJ; Roderick Villanueva of New Bern, NC; Edith & her husband Ed Alvarez of Mangilao, Guam; Phil & his wife Marie of Mangilao, Guam; Caesar & his wife Norma of Yona, Guam; Robert & his wife Estrelle of Hurst, TX; Rowena & her husband Les Boblenz of Jacksonville, FL; Randy Villanueva-Ahue & Kent Ahue of Waimanalo, HI.; one sister, Thelma Ziel of Orange Park, FL; 16 grand children and 7 great-grandchildren.
